Graduates Of The 11th Congress
The Constitution allows
a maximum of two consecutive terms of six years each (12 years)
for Senators while Congressmen can serve for three consecutive
terms of three years each (nine years). After reaching their
maximum term limits, most legislators ran for another elective
post while others totally leave public office. Still, a few
are tapped by the incumbent administration to serve in the
Executive Department.
In the 11th Congress, 49 legislators in
the House will finish their terms while three will graduate
from the Senate:
