Children are born every minute of every day. Some of them are brought into the world with the promise of a good life and a bright future. Others are not. But even they can look forward to the hope the new millennium brings. They need help. And we can give it to them. With just an hour of our time, we can save their future and put a smile on their faces.

The Children's Hour symbolizes our growing concern for the many abused and disadvantaged children in the world. It is a global fundraising campaign led by the International Youth Foundation, which calls upon all working individuals and companies worldwide to donate their earnings from the last working hour of the millennium to meaningful and sustainable programs for our children.

Just One Hour Can Brighten Up A Child's Life
It started as a promise. In 1998, Marks and Spencer plc and the New Millennium Experience Company of the United Kingdom, supported by Prime Minister Tony Blair, made a promise to create a better future for the children of the next millennium by initiating the campaign called "Children's Promise". This inspired the International Youth Foundation to adopt the concept and launch "Children's Hour" globally.

In just one hour, you can help make a miracle happen. Your earnings from just one hour of the millennium can send many of our poor children to school, provide them with food, shelter and care, and save them from a life of poverty, exploitation and abuse. Yes, that miracle can happen! And if every working individual in the Philippines would donate at least P25 or an hour's minimum wage, millions can be raised to improve the lives of our underprivileged children. Think of the tremendous impact this would make!

Socially committed individuals, companies and organizations lead the campaign. To manage the campaign and channel the funds to suitable projects, a steering committee of leading businessmen and socially committed individuals has been created. Let us make our last act in this millennium an act of love for our children. By giving them an hour of our lifetime, we can create a world of difference!
