As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility,
the Makati Business Club supports and operates special
projects in areas which we feel requires special attention
by the business community. Over the years, these projects
have centered on education, the judiciary, environment,
and disaster preparedness and relief. Our current programs
include:
Invest
in Education Program
The Makati Business Club's Invest in Education
Program (IEP) was launched in December 1990 in response
to what MBC found was the "sorry state" of the
education sector. That time, for every 100 pupils who
entered Grade 1, only 60 finished Grade 6, and eventually
only 40 made it to High School graduation. Economic difficulties
forced these children out of school. More
Children's Hour
The Children's
Hour symbolizes our growing
concern for the many abused and disadvantaged children
in the world. It is a global fundraising campaign led
by the International Youth Foundation, which calls upon
all working individuals and companies worldwide to donate
their earnings from the last working hour of the millennium
to meaningful and sustainable programs for our children.
Corporate
Network for Disaster Response
The Corporate Network for Disaster Response is a network
of business groups and associations whose objective is
to rationalize and institutionalize disaster relief efforts
from the business and NGO community during times of disaster
and crisis. CNDR specializes in disaster prevention, mitigation,
and preparedness as well as relief operations. When natural
disaster strikes, the network is mobilized to conduct
damage assessments, source relief goods and financial
resources from donors, and distribute the goods through
a network of NGOs already existent in the communities
targetted for assistance.
connectEd.ph

the PCs for Public Schools project,

The Makati Business Club is committed to a project with
great potential for significant social impact in the Philippines.
