Starting
2001, MBC will participate in an upcoming project with great
potential for significant social impact in the Philippines.
This is World Leaders Build 2001 on August 6-11, 2001 headed
globally by former US President Jimmy Carter, Habitat's No.
1 volunteer. In line with Habitat's mission to provide decent
housing for the most needy, Jimmy Carter will be building
homes on August 6-11 in Korea side by side with South Korean
President Kim Dae Jung, Nobel Peace Laureat, as well as former
Philippine President Corazon Aquino. World Leaders Build activities
in the Philippines will be kicked off by President Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo and members of her Cabinet.
MBC will be sponsoring one Habitat house as
part of World Leaders Build. Moreover, we will be closing
the office on August 6 to help build a house in Pinugay, Rizal.
